Institute Overview

Pervatech BV is a leading company in membrane technology. It produces membranes, membrane modules and separation systems for pervaporation and vapour permeation applications. The company’s core activities are the development, production, marketing and sales of ceramic membranes for both hydrophilic and organophilic separation processes. It works closely with leading universities to advance scientific expertise in these fields. Pervatech’s products are increasingly used in the chemical, petro-chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry, including dehydration of solvents, azeotrope separation and the enhancement of chemical condensation reactions in aggressive environments.

Role in BIOCON-CO₂

Pervatech is mainly involved in the extraction of C3-C6 alcohols and possibly the Guerbert alcohols and downstream processing of these alcohols. It will subsequently support all processes where membranes can be of assistance, i.e. in situ removal of products or by-products, thus leading to a higher yield. Pervatech will also make its lab and bench scale separation units available for the project as well as building a test unit for the project.
