As one of the fastest growing sectors in the worldwide chemicals market, industrial biotechnology has the potential to become the dominant technology of tomorrow’s chemicals industry, representing a huge future opportunity. With significant challenges posed by high energy prices, shale gas, and uncertain legislation, major investment and innovation is required to deliver on this prospect.
Now in its 11th year, the 2018 European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology & the Bioeconomy (EFIB) will bring together policy makers, industry leaders and academics to discuss the most significant developments on the upscaling of commercial biorefineries. This broad range of stakeholders will focus on the transformative potential of industrial biotechnology to create a smarter and more sustainable future.
BIOCON-CO2 is exploring ground-breaking biotechnology solutions to transform industry-generated CO2 into commercially viable chemicals and plastics which can then re-enter the value chain.
